It's been a difficult day. Late last night I heard that we had lost Satoru Iwata, President of what I consider to be the greatest video game company in the world, Nintendo, due to complications with a growth in his bile duct, i.e. cancer. This hits home for me on a personal level for several reasons.
As the gaming community mourns, I decided that I would add my voice to theirs as I share in that mourning at a core level. Nintendo is my childhood. It makes up so much of who I am as a person. Though I never met him, I will miss Mr. Iwata.
Below is an audio recording of my reflections on his passing and my hopes for the gaming community at large in his wake. Please take a listen and share with others if you see fit.
To Mr. Iwata I say thank you for never forgetting the fun.
